Horse Patrol Catches Some Drive-In Shade During Heat Wave: Photo

If you thought a cold snack from Sonic sounded like a good idea during this heat wave, you’re not alone.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office shared this “cool” photo of the office’s mounted units on patrol at Cosner’s Corner.

“Josie and Steve loved Sonic’s cold apples that were ordered for them during one of their breaks,” according to a Facebook post Friday with a few other shots.

Hogshead Cigar Lounge also provided some shade during another break.

The horses had numerous breaks, plenty of water, cold apples and were hosed down after a very short patrol, according to the SCSO.
