FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Abigail Spanberger claimed victory in Virginia's 7th congressional district on Tuesday night. The Associated Press proclaimed Spanberger as the winner around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

Now, results are starting to roll in about how the Fredericksburg area voted. The Virginia Department of Elections offers unofficial results that show vote tallies for each precinct in a locality.

In the 7th congressional district, Republican challenger Yesli Vega ran a close race against Spanberger, the incumbent Democrat.

Patch spoke to several voters on Election Day who discussed what issues were most important to them on their ballot.

One voter in Woodbridge said she was focused on reproductive rights for herself and her two daughters.

Other voters mentioned concerns about inflation, the economy, gun control, and social justice.

"At the end of the day, we all have things we believe and have to vote accordingly," voter Matthew James told Patch.
