Human Remains Headed to Medical Examiner for Identification
Skull and bones were found Sunday evening in a wooded area in Stafford, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Human remains were located Sunday evening in a wooded area off of Mine Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Two people practicing their bow hunting skills in the area came across a human skull and some additional bones around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the area near Highpointe Blvd.
It was clear that the remains had been there for a long period of time, according to police spokesperson Bill Kennedy.

Stafford detectives are currently on scene investigating.
The remains will be sent to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond for possible identification and cause of death.
