idX Corporation Bringing Jobs to Spotsylvania County

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA — Around 150 new jobs are coming to Spotsylvania County over the next five years after a deal was finalized this week with idX Corporation to move its operations from Columbia, Md., to the county.

The company, which provides fixture manufacturing for retail markets, is investing $7.2 million in the plant, along with a $400,000 grant from Virginia.

idX is buying a 77-acre facility from RACER Trust, which was formed in 2009 as part of a bankruptcy agreement to sell GM's former assets.

It includes 250,000 square feet of industrial space.

County incentives for the project included $1,525,000 over the next 10 years.

idX specializes in wood, metal, glass, acrylic, laminates, veneers and upholstery.
