Update: Wet Weather Delays JM Football Again

Yellow Jackets will look to improve to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in Battlefield District play.

UPDATE - Citing wet field conditions, tonight's road game has been postponed for about a day, and will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. at Culpeper County High School.

It just doesn't seem fair. If it was a pickup game, teams would be re-drawn immediately to even things out a bit. But this is Virginia High School football, and we play for keeps. Through the first six weeks of the 2011 season, the James Monroe High School Yellow Jackets truly appear to be in a league of their own. According to Maxpreps.com, JM has scored the most points (328) of any team in the state.

Last week at Caroline, the Jayem offense fired on all cylinders, and the game was effectively decided with four minutes remaining in the first quarter. Demontaz Brown threw for three touchdowns, and Ethan Preston added two on the ground. Defensively, the Yellow Jackets didn't allow a first down until midway through the second quarter en route to their first shutout of the season.

Tonight's opponent, Culpeper County High School, is 0-6 and has been absolutely plastered by inferior opponents. JM will breeze through this contest, with little or no resistance. It's as simple as that. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
