Work on the 43,000-square-foot building, which plans to house retail and office space, should be completed by May, according to reports.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Construction on a long-discussed project for downtown Fredericksburg commenced this week, according to reports. Crews started preliminary work on Liberty Place, a three-story, 43,000-square-foot development that will house retail, restaurant and office space.
Liberty Place is going up on the site of the William Street Executive Building, which was demolished last spring, the Free Lance-Star reported. Once complete, it will house ground-level retail and restaurant space, and two floors of office space.
Tenants include Blue Cow Ice Cream, Burger Bach, Cary Street Partners, Mellow Mushroom, Pasta Fresca Cafe and an Atlantic Union Bank lending office.
