Lockdown Lifted At Conway Elementary School In Stafford: Police

Authorities said a lockdown has been lifted at Conway Elementary School in Stafford County after a disturbance in the area.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Conway Elementary School was locked down on Monday afternoon, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. The lockdown was lifted after a few minutes.

"Out of an abundance of caution, Conway Elementary School is currently in a partial lockdown due to a disturbance in the Leeland Station subdivision," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook at 2:20 p.m.

The sheriff's office has not released any additional information about the disturbance in the area.

Elsewhere in Stafford County, Hampton Oaks Elementary School was placed into a lockdown on Monday. Authorities said that lockdown was caused by a robbery in the area.

Both schools had normal dismissals after their lockdowns were lifted.
