Lockdown At Stafford Senior High School For Gun Threat: Police
A lockdown was implemented at Stafford Senior High School on Wednesday after police received a report of a student with a gun.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Stafford High School was placed under a lockdown on Wednesday afternoon, according to a report from the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Authorities originally responded to the school for a report of a student with a gun.
When deputies responded to the school, they were able to locate the student involved, Major Shawn Kimmitz of the sheriff's office said. Deputies determined that the threat was not credible.
Originally, authorities were told that the student brought a gun to the school after he was involved in a fight last week. However, a lockdown was still implemented.

Kimmitz reported that while deputies were investigating the first report, another threat "materialized." Authorities said the school was only locked down as a precaution.
Around 2 p.m., the sheriff's office reported that the second threat they received was also not credible. They said that the lockdown would be lifted and business would resume. A large police presence was still visible at the school around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

This was the second threat that the sheriff's office investigated at a Stafford County Public School in as many days. On Tuesday, authorities received a report of a threat at Gayle Middle School.
