Macy's Backstage Coming To Spotsylvania Towne Centre

FREDERICKSBURG, VA—There's a new Macy's coming to Spotsylvania Towne Centre next month. Well, there is but there isn't. Macy's proper already welcomes shoppers to the business at 3102 Plank Road. This new version, on the other hand, is something of a mini-me; rather, a store within in a store.

Say hello to Macy's Backstage, set to swing open its, well, doors April 14. It's an outlet store that takes up 15,000 square feet of the existing store. It'll be on the second level, and will offer merchandise that's a bit more funky, diverse and specialized than that found in the rest of the store. For lack of a better phrase, Macy's Backstage is a glorified-yet-minimized outlet store.

It's described as being "operated by its own buying team who scour the world to find the most fabulous product at the best prices. This structure allows Backstage to deliver a constantly changing assortment of on-trend merchandise at 20 to 80 percent off traditional department store prices and encourages customers to return often to find new treasures."

At the grand opening, there will be giveaways for the first 200 customers, as well as special events throughout the day.
