Man Accused Of Stabbing Mom's Boyfriend In Fredericksburg
Jaydon Mathew Staples of Fredericksburg was arrested Sunday after police said he called 911, claiming he stabbed the victim.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A man is facing charges after police said he stabbed his mother's boyfriend at a Fredericksburg apartment.
Jaydon Mathew Staples, 20, of Fredericksburg, was arrested Sunday and charged with malicious wounding/felony assault following the incident, police said in a news release.
According to authorities, police responded to the 1100 block of Townsend Boulevard after Staples called 911 and told dispatchers he stabbed the victim. When officers arrived, they spotted Staples flagging them down and he was immediately taken into custody, police said.

Additional officers arrived and entered the apartment, where they found the victim suffering from severe injuries to his lower abdomen. Officers provided aid until he was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery.
The victim is recovering, police said.

Staples is currently being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
