Man Busted For Bizarre Shooting In Stafford: Police

A man was arrested after a bizarre shooting outside a Royal Farms store, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

STAFFORD, VA—A man fired a gun through his parked vehicle's windshield Tuesday at a Royal Farms on Warrenton Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. No one was seriously injured, but an acquaintance standing outside the vehicle—the apparent target—suffered a slight facial cut from shattered glass.

Alexander Caleb Sewell, 22, of Bumpass, was charged with shooting from a vehicle, reckless handling of a firearm, felonious assault, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance and felony possession by a prisoner.

Before going to Royal Farms, according to the victim, he and Sewell had been in a Walmart at 11 Village Parkway, where Sewell bought several items from the firearm section. The victim helped him pay for the merchandise when they got to the register.

They then went across the street to Royal Farms. While inside, according to the victim, Sewell opened his jacket, revealing a handgun, and asked him to walk back outside with him. He then said he was just kidding and had no intention of hurting him.

He then got into his vehicle and showed the vehicle two guns, one of which wasn't loaded. Then he picked up the other one, pointed it at the victim's face and fired. He then fled the scene but later was spotted pulling into the Red Roof Inn on Warrenton Road.
