Man Fatally Shot Sunday in Stafford: Police

STAFFORD, VA — A man was fatally shot Sunday night in the 300 block of Madison Court, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was identified as Jorge Leonardo Melo, 26, of Vista Woods Roads.

Around 6:30 p.m., police responded to the scene and found Melo on the ground. Attempts were made to revive him but he died after being taken to a local hospital.

Witnesses say they heard multiple gun shots and saw two males wearing all black flee the scene on foot. They also saw a black SUV leave the scene after the incident.

No suspects have been identified.
