Man Hospitalized After Shooting; Police Seek Shooter: Report

Fredericksburg Police are seeking a suspect in a shooting that took place Thursday on Gates Street, according to news reports.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A man was hospitalized following a shooting that occurred last Thursday afternoon in downtown Fredericksburg, according to news reports.

The victim of the shooting contacted Fredericksburg Police around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to ABC8 News. The man reported that someone had shot him in the 400 block of Gates Street.

Officers arrived on the scene and provided first aid until emergency services personnel took over. The victim was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery. As of midday on Tuesday, the man was still recovering in the hospital, according to ABC8 News.
