Hyperion Espresso Sold To Mary Washington University Grad: Report

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 2011 graduate of Mary Washington University has purchased Hyperion Espresso from longtime owners Dan Peterson and Ana Brugos, according to news reports.

New owner Jack Scholl told Fredericksburg Business News that he planned to retain all of Hyperion's staff. Located at 301 William St., the coffee shop has operated since 1994.

Scholl has coffee in his blood, according to FBN. In 1990, his family purchased Lexington Coffee, located in downtown Lexington, Virginia. The family later expanded the coffee bar's roasting facility and moved it to U.S. 11, where it operates as Roadmap CoffeeWorks.
