Masked Man Assaults Fredericksburg School Staff After Trying To Enter Building: Cops
The Spotsylvania man was arrested Friday after police said he rode a city bus to the school and tried to enter the building.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Spotsylvania man is facing multiple charges after police said he donned a mask, rode a bus to a Fredericksburg school and assaulted a staff member when they refused to let him into the building.
Jordan Cromes, 32, was arrested Friday morning and charged with two counts of trespassing, disorderly conduct, assault and wearing a mask in public following the incident at James Monroe High School, Fredericksburg police said in a statement.
According to police, Cromes was wearing a mask when he boarded a city school bus, arrived at James Monroe High School and tried to enter the building. When a staff member refused to let him in, he assaulted the person outside the building.

Officers responded to the school and took Cromes into custody around 7:50 a.m.
According to police, the school remained in a secure status during the incident. Additional patrol units were at the school on Friday out of an abundance of caution, and parents were promptly notified.

"Police and school officials continue to monitor the situation and appreciate the swift response from staff and officers," Fredericksburg police said.
Crome is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
