Medical Examiner Says Stafford Shooting Was Murder-Suicide: Media Report (ICYMI)

A Stafford County man shot and killed his girlfriend last week before turning the gun on himself, the state medical examiner’s office said Wednesday, according to a media report.

Responding at 11:37 p.m. Friday to a report of shots fired, Stafford sheriff’s deputies found the bodies of Ashley Deanna Hoffman, 32, and Ramon Deandre Williams, 34, at their home at 305 Garrison Woods Drive. Both had died of gunshot wounds, the sheriff’s office said.
Hoffman and Williams had a relationship and lived together at the North Stafford residence. Sheriff’s detectives believed the incident was a murder-suicide, but were waiting for confirmation from the chief medical examiner’s office in Richmond.

The Free Lance-Star reported Wednesday that an official with the medical examiner’s office said that Hoffman died after suffering gunshot wounds to her torso. Williams’ death has been ruled a suicide; the official said he died from a gunshot wound to his head.
A relative of one of the shooting victims called police Friday night after being notified by a juvenile who lives in the residence, the sheriff’s office said. The juvenile had heard the shots and ran to the relative’s house just down the road.
