Melvin Keith Frandsen, 75 of Stafford County, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Frandsen had worked as a security officer for Wackenhut for 40 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two-year mission in the Western States Mission in Colorado, and a six- month humanitarian mission in Idaho Falls; and had also served as a Sunday School teacher and Cub Scout leader. He enjoyed gardening, flying, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Katherine Frandsen; his step-children, Brenda Paschal, Bonnie Grizzle, Brittney Montalvo, and Bethany Aggieri; a brother, Waldon Frandsen; two sisters, Karen Jenkins and Annette Beck; and ten grandchildren.

A service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, 1399 Courthouse Rd., Stafford, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Missionary Fund-Aquia Ward, 1399 Courthouse Rd., Stafford, VA 22554.
