As Fredericksburg celebrates Memorial Day, some government offices, public facilities and services will be closed or have modified hours.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Many government offices, schools, transit services and public facilities around Fredericksburg will be closed or operating on modified schedules for Memorial Day on Monday, May 25.

Trash pickup and recycling in Fredericksburg: Curbside trash and recycling will be collected as scheduled Monday, May 25. Residents should have items at the curb by 7 a.m. The Belman Road Recycling Center and Stafford Landfill will be closed Monday and reopen Tuesday, May 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Fredericksburg VA)

Fredericksburg National Cemetery: A Memorial Day ceremony and observance will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25, at Fredericksburg National Cemetery. The National Park Service says the ceremony will include a bugler playing taps and the 23rd U.S. Colored Troops living history group presenting the colors. From 10:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., staff and volunteers will share stories of people buried at the cemetery and facilitate acts of remembrance. The National Park Service said the Saturday, May 23, luminaria was canceled because of inclement weather, but the Monday observance remains scheduled. (nps.gov)
