Patrol units canvassed the area on foot, and one officer on Pebble Beach Drive saw two people running away from him. He gave chase and ordered them to the ground. Both men had tasers, and one had a large flashlight. They said they simply were going to 7-Eleven for snacks.
But along a fence line about 100 feet from where they were apprehended, police found several pairs of athletic shoes valued at more than $100 each, a jacket, a multi-tool glass breaker and a seat belt cutter. Further investigation found the shoes had been stolen from a vehicle on Pebble Beach Drive.
