Meth Dealer From Fredericksburg Receives 18-Year Prison Sentence
A man who pleaded guilty to a meth distribution charge has been sentenced to 18 years in prison, federal prosecutors announced.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A man from Fredericksburg was sentenced to 18 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a meth distribution charge, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
The man, 36-year-old Briceton Grant, was pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine after a grand jury indicted him in June 2022.
According to court records, Grant possessed about 8 pounds of crystal meth between October and November 2021. When Grant was arrested, authorities also found 9o fentanyl pills and 30 grams of cocaine.

Grant's methamphetamine had purity levels above 90 percent, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
"This grade of methamphetamine is referred to as “Ice” or “Crystal Meth” and is often manufactured in super labs outside of the United States," prosecutors said in a news release.

In 2020, more than 2 million people used methamphetamine, according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Officials reported that more than 23,000 died from a psychostimulant overdose that wasn't related to cocaine. The Centers for Disease Control said methamphetamine caused most of those deaths.
