Mildred L. Haynes, 80, of Fredericksburg died peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Mary Washington Hospital with her family at her side.
Mrs. Haynes love of crocheting showed in the theme blankets she made for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with their name crocheted in. She loved swinging on her front porch, talking to friends and family, and drinking coffee. She enjoyed helping others in need. She also enjoyed sewing, playing scrabble and the companionship of her cat “Lucky.”

Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Haynes; parents Marion and Eula Phelix; two brothers Don and Bill Phelix; and two sisters Reba Lomax and Mary Rupe.
Survivors include her son James Thomas Phelix (Toni); daughter DeDra Dickinson (Jerry); sister Charlene Covington and Phyllis Haynes; grandchildren Becky Knight (Greg), Daniel Hunter (Kristin), Yates Phelix (Amee), Jermiah Phelix and Kris Carneal (Missy); great grandchildren Will, Cash, Ava, Skyler and Kaden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17 at Confederate Cemetery in Spotsylvania County.
