FREDERICKSBURG, VA — All three floors of the Fredericksburg Branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library will undergo a reorganization and shifting of materials in March and April. Patrons should expect some some disruptions during the work.

After the changes are made, the first floor of the Fredericksburg Branch will house adult fiction and will be devoted to the highest-circulating parts of the collection, including new books, hot genres, and DVDs. The changes will make it easier for patrons to find the most popular materials, the library said.

Adult fiction and other materials will be moved away from the second floor in order to devote the entire floor to youth services. New shelves will be installed on the first and third floors. In the autumn, new shelving will be installed on the second floor.

The third floor will house adult nonfiction and study rooms and will open to the public sometime in April. This will be the first time that the third floor of the Fredericksburg Branch will be a public browsing, studying and meeting space.

During the reorganization, the adult collections will be closed from March 9 to April 3. A small selection of titles, including new releases, will still be available. The entire Fredericksburg Branch will be closed for work on three days: March 9, 23, and 24. Aside from these three days, the second floor youth services collection rooms will not be closed during the moving of materials.

In January, the Fredericksburg Branch opened a renovated theater in its building that almost doubled the seating capacity. The bigger theater provided the city a much-needed boost to its performing arts space.

Customers can visit the library's website for more information about the reorganization.
