Missing Man, 80, May Be in Fredericksburg

Howard Shrieves Jr. was traveling through the area when he disappeared four days ago, according to investigators.

Investigators are hoping that someone in Fredericksburg may have seen an 80-year-old man reported missing over the weekend.

Howard Shrieves Jr., of Mappsville, is a black male, age 80, approximately 6’1 and weighing approximately 175 lbs.

He was operating a 1999 black Ford Escort bearing Virginia registration VKB2761 which has damage to the passenger side front fender.

Shrieves has Alzheimer’s Disease, and when located, he may appear to be confused, according to Accomack Sheriff Todd Godwin.

Shrieves was traveling to Pocomoke City, Md. on Friday evening and he never arrived at his destination.

His cell phone was last tracked northeast of Fredericksburg at 1:18 a.m. Saturday, according to Virginia State Police.
