Missing Woman, 19: Luggage Found in Ditch
Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office searching for young woman last seen heading to Reagan National Airport to get on a plane.

Spotsylvania, VA. — Investigators are searching for a missing 19-year-old woman last seen at the Franconia Springfield Metro Station on Saturday, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
Katelin Akens, 19, of Spotsylvania, was headed to Regan National Airport to catch a flight, but she never arrived at her destination, according to family.
On Monday, Akens’ luggage was found in a drainage ditch on River Road in Spotsylvania County near the Fredericksburg city limit, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Capt. Jeff Pearce.

Sheriff Roger L. Harris noted, “The circumstances surrounding this case are suspicious enough to warrant our full investigative efforts, in attempting to locate Miss Akens.”
Anyone with information concerning Akens’ whereabouts can call the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Solvers. The information can be left anonymously.
