Mother, Boyfriend Indicted For Homicide In Death Of 3-Month-Old Infant

A Spotsylvania woman and her boyfriend were indicted for homicide in the Nov. 16, 2024 death of 3-month-old Asher Hollowman, reports say.

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA — A 22-year-old mother from Spotsylvania and her boyfriend are facing multiple charges, including homicide, in the death of 3-month-old Asher Hollowman last November, according to authorities.

On Nov. 16, 2024, Spotslyvania Sheriff’s deputies and Spotsylvania Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 12600 block of Orange Plank Road for the report of a 3-month-old infant in respiratory distress, according to the incident report. Asher Hollowman was taken to Mary Washington Hospital for treatment, but he was later pronounced dead.

Following an investigation into the incident, Angela Hoffman, who is the infant’s mother, and her boyfriend, 29-year-old Andrew Phillips, were each indicted on charges of homicide, abuse/neglect of a child resulting in serious injury, and child endangerment/cruelty, according to the sheriff’s department.
