Mother's Day message from a seven year old

Mother's Day is the day when we celebrate and recognize the hard work our mothers have done to care for us.

In the Holy Qur’an the word ‘mother’ is mentioned 24 times and ‘mothers’10 times. This shows that Islam considers mothers to be special and we should show kindness and love them everyday and not just one day of the year. Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Paradise lies at the feet of the mothers.”

Yes, we can wish our mothers on Mother's Day and give her special gifts. But more than gifts it is important to be kind to our mothers so that we can keep them happy. If she is happy then the entire household will be joyful. Mother’s Day should not be just a one day celebration once a year. We shouldn’t be nice to our mothers on just this special day. We should be nice to our mothers everyday so that she feels happy everyday.

As a seven year old girl, I pray that may God bless our mothers and lead us to a peaceful life.
