Motorcyclist Killed in Wreck With Bus

A Stafford man died Wednesday morning after his motorcycle collied with a commuter bus on Rockville Pike in Bethesda, Md.

Francis G. Plati Jr., 35, of Woodleigh Lane in Stafford, VA, was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Montgomery County Police say the accident happened just after 6 a.m. at the intersection of Rockville Pike and South Drive.

Plati was southbound on a motorcycle on Rockville Pike. A Ride On bus, driven by Hyggins Charles, 59, of East Indian Spring Drive in Silver Spring, was northbound on Rockville Pike.

Police say the bus driver turned left onto South Drive and the vehicles collided in the intersection.

There were no passengers on the Ride On bus at the time of the crash.

This collision remains under investigation.
