New Leadership Role For Fairfax Man In PGA's Middle Atlantic Section
Tony Kovacic of Fairfax was hired by the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA of America to oversee its partnerships and sponsorships.

STAFFORD, VA — Tony Kovacic, a resident of Fairfax and a veteran of the U.S. Army, was hired Wednesday to be the new director of business affairs at the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA of America.
In his new role, Kovacic will oversee MAPGA's partnerships and sponsorships with the goal of enhancing member support and the development of programming for youth and player development. He will also manage PGA REACH Middle Atlantic, the organization's charitable foundation, which seeks to use the game of golf as a way to positively impact the lives of youth, military and diverse populations.
“Tony is a champion of the game and business of golf, and we are excited to have him join our team as Director of Business Affairs” said Jon Guhl, MAPGA's executive director. “His experience in business will help us a grow and foster new partnerships for the Association, while his military background will be a tremendous asset in our continued mission to improve the lives of Veterans through the amazing PGA HOPE program.”

A Cleveland, Ohio native, Kovacic served seven years in the army, before working as a defense contractor for 14 years. After earning a business management & administration degree from St. Leo University in Florida, he worked as a senior program manager and commercialization manager at Catalina Marketing in of St. Petersburg, Florida.
It was during this phase of his career that Kovacic fell in love with golf and combined his military and business experience to pursue a new career in the golf industry. This led to his most recent position at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.

Kovacic lives in Fairfax with his wife Marlene, their daughter Bria and son Brayden.
