North Carolina Man Charged In Pedestrian Death In Stafford County
A North Carolina man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with a pedestrian death in a grocery store parking lot.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A North Carolina man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with a pedestrian death Wednesday in a grocery store parking lot in Stafford County.
At about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Stafford County police received calls reporting a pedestrian had been struck in the parking lot of Lidl at 1175 Warrenton Road near Fredericksburg.
When Stafford County deputies arrived on the scene, they found Daniel Junco, 49, of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a white 2019 Chevrolet Silverado towing a tandem axle trailer had struck Junco, according to the sheriff’s office.
In their investigation, deputies learned that the driver and victim knew each other. The driver, Jared Carter, 24, of Stedman, North Carolina, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

The sheriff’s office said the case is being investigated by members of its Criminal Investigations Division and Traffic Safety Unit.
