Northern Virginia Labor Day Weekend Weather: Clearing Up, But When?

Following a bumpy beginning to three-day Labor Day weekend, Northern Virginia's weather is expected to improve, and then some.

STERLING, VA — Despite a bumpy start, the Labor Day weekend weather for Northern Virginia could be a lot worse. That's the word from the area branch of the National Weather Service in Sterling. Namely, the arriving rain won's stick around for long.

Although Saturday brings a 70 percent of showers with highs only in the mid-60s, things begin to look up heading into final two days of the three-day holiday weekend. Labor Day itself is expected to be sunny with highs in the low 80s. (For more local news, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts.
