Northern Virginia's Memorial Day weekend weather forecast calls for intense humidity, which won't lead to much of anything good.

STERLING, VA—Following a splendid Friday, Northern Virginia's Memorial Day weekend weather forecast ushers in more humidity and a chance of rain all three days. That's the word from the National Weather Service's satellite branch in Sterling and other area forecasting outlets.

Look for more clouds than sunshine. And amid all that humidity, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "More moisture can loosely be translated to three things as far as your weekend forecast is concerned: 1) muggy and unpleasant humidity levels, 2) increased cloud cover (especially in the early morning and late afternoon), and 3) daily chances of pop-up storms with heavy downpours."
