Northern Virginia Weather: Slow Return To Normal

Northern Virginia's work-week weather forecast bodes relatively well, if a bit crisp at first. And that's not such a bad thing.

STERLING, VA—Northern Virginia's weather outlook for the upcoming work week has little if anything not to like, what with relatively moderate temperatures, low humidity and minimal chances of rain. That's the consensus from the National Weather Service and other area forecasters, so let the good times roll.

Still, as Brian Jackson of the Washington Post's Capital Gang wisely put it: "You just can’t hold back the Mid-Atlantic summer for long, and it returns to work along with the rest of us, but not oppressively so." In other words, the region's infamous dog days will continue to take something of a break—for now.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 87.
