Northern Virginia Weather: Hazardous Outlook Issued

STERLING, VA—Before a fabulous run of summery conditions graces the Northern Virginia area, of course we face a bit of hardship. In this case, it's the Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service that includes a frost advisory 2-9 a.m. Monday.

High winds around 25 mph also are expected Sunday night, and according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang, "temperatures will fall off rather quickly, with lows in the mid-30s in Loudon, Fairfax and Alexandria counties, which is why these locations are under a frost advisory."

Following a tease Monday with temperatures flirting with 70 under much sunshine, the rest of the week features more sun with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Here's the detailed forecast from the National Weather Service:

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 41. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 68. Northwest wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 48. Northwest wind 5 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 78. West wind 5 to 8 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Friday: A chance of showers after 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
