A hazardous weather outlook has been issued, and Northern Virginia's weekend forecast is expected to differ from the past several days.

STERLING, VA—Northern Virginia's weekend weather forecast beings with a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service calling for isolated showers Friday night with gusts around 25 mph. Saturday should bring considerable cloudiness and lower temperatures with more threats of rain, according to multiple forecasting outlets.

And Sunday? Consider this, from the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "Coming off rainy lows in the 50s, Sunday could still be rather wet as we get going. It’s more of a residual dampness than an ongoing rainstorm, although some showers or a drizzle seem likely in the morning and through midday."

Friday Night: Isolated showers before 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 62. Southwest wind 8 to 15 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 72. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2am, then showers likely. Low around 56. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
