Northern Virginia Weather: Nice 'Work' Week
Independence Day presents something of a funky work week but the weather isn't going anywhere. And the week ahead looks pretty good.

STERLING, VA — For those who didn't schedule a vacation around the Fourth Of July holiday, there's the usual work week to consider amid the smokey haze from fireworks and what not. And your weather forecast for said work week, according to the National Weather Service's satellite arm in Sterling, looks pretty good — especially if you like it hot (close your eyes and remember bitterly cold February mornings).
Basically, we're looking at a week that's expected to have a lot of sunshine to go along with a daily threat of a thunderstorm here and there. Monday looks to be mostly sunny, leading into an Independence Day with a slight chance of showers after noon but otherwise sunny with highs in the low 90s (close your eyes and remember wintry mixes).
