Northern Virginia Weather: For Now, Wetness Lingers
Northern Virginia's work-week weather forecast has a gradual return of warmth but the wet conditions will linger—at least for a while: NWS.

STERLING, VA—Persistent rain amid perpetually overcast skies should rule the next few days for the Northern Virginia area, although warmer temperatures return early in the work week. That's the word from the National Weather Service bureau in Sterling and other area forecasters.
The reason for continued wetness, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang, is that a "persistent onshore flow has locked in the low-level moisture, and a stalled-out frontal boundary is providing the support for nearly constant drizzle and rain."

Sunday Night: Drizzle with light rain likely. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 61. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 67. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
