Northern Virginia Weather: Tiresome Snow Threat Retreats

STERLING, VA—A slightly chilly weekend gives way to slightly warmer conditions as far as Northern Virginia's work-week weather forecast goes. The lows begin to climb and, according to the National Weather Service outlet in Sterling and other outlets, things begin to feel like spring—which, of course, it is.

As the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang, points out, look for "slow but steady improvement as we get into the work week, with 60 degrees in play by midweek and some rain showers possible, too." Notice the absence of the "s" word. All in all, not a bad outlook. Here's the detailed forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 49. Light southeast wind.

Wednesday: A chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
