STERLING, VA—Northern Virginia's work-week weather forecast is fairly straightforward as we greet October, according to the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets. Namely, expect mostly warm sunny days and relatively cool nights. Highs should be in the low 80s with lows in the mid 60s.
The reason for the slightly above average conditions is nicely explained by the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "A large area of high pressure will settle into place over the eastern half of the continent, which probably means lots of sunny weather but warmer-than-average temperatures."
