Northern Virginia Weather: Work Week Looking Great

STERLING, VA — With the weekend having not really been affected by the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy, which more or less steered clear of our area, there's more good news ahead. That's the word from the National Weather Service's local headquarters in Sterling. Aside from a possible blip on Tuesday, plenty of sunshine is in store for the work week.

Monday kicks it off with sunny skies and highs in the lower 80s. That's expected to be followed by a partly sunny Tuesday, slightly lower temperatures and a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms or showers after 3 p.m. After that, the rest of the week looks fabulous, albeit with a caveat. Namely, temperatures will begin to climb.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. West wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 74.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
