Northern Virginia's post-Thanksgiving weekend weather forecast presents a scenario that could include a few drops of rain here and there.

STERLING, VA — Northern Virginia's post-Thanksgiving weekend weather forecast presents an OK Saturday despite slow-approaching clouds and an expected sunny Sunday with moderate temperatures and sporadic wind gusts of up to 20 mph. That's the word from the National Weather Service's local branch in Sterling.

Saturday's high temperatures should push 60 but there's a 30 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. Sunday, though, if expected to offer plenty of sunshine, and lows that night should be in the mid 30s with light winds. Here's the detailed forecast from the National Weather Service.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 37. South wind around 7 mph.

Saturday: A chance of showers after 4pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 58. South wind around 6 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35. West wind 3 to 6 mph.
