Northern Virginia Weekend Weather: Snow Could Happen
Snow isn't out of the question when it comes to Northern Virginia's weekend weather forecast. There's even a chance on Christmas Day.

STERLING, VA — Northern Virginia's weekend weather forecast calls for an outside chance of a few snowflakes on Christmas Eve night Sunday or even Christmas Day, according various reports. For the most part, though, the weekend is expected to start rainy and mild before turning cold and windy by Sunday night. That's the word from the National Weather Service outlet in Sterling.
And the snowflakes? There's this, from the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "We aren’t expecting major (if any) accumulation around the Beltway. Mainly just 'mood flakes' for seasonal enjoyment!" Meanwhile, Saturday's highs should be in the mid 60s, and there's an 80 percent chance of rain.
Sunday is expected to offer plenty of sunshine with highs in the mid 40s before giving way to lows in the 30s overnight. And Christmas Day? There's a 20 percent of precipitation, possibly snow, before 10 a.m. Here's the detailed forecast from the National Weather Service:
