The annual performance is a joint presentation of the Mid-Atlantic Wind Symphony and the Fredericksburg-Este Association, a sister city organization twinning Fredericksburg with Este, Italy.

This year’s performance is dedicated to the memory of William Prescott (Bill) Carter, who died suddenly in September. Bill was an active member in the Fredericksburg-Este Association, and a great lover of music.

The Mid-Atlantic Wind Symphony will perform selections of Italian and American composers reflecting the theme, La Vita è un Viaggio, under the direction of Aaron Noë.

The two organizations offer this annual performance as a gift, with the goal of sharing the richness of Italian classical music. The Symphony’s professional musicians volunteer their talent to promote wind band literature to a wide audience.

The Fredericksburg-Este Association, founded in 2015, nurtures friendship and cultural understanding between the two cities through exchanges, programs, and events. More information is found at www.fred-este.org.
