Patawomeck Indian Tribe Of Virginia Receives $2,500 Donation From Fredericksburg Toyota Dealer
The donation will support the Tribe's cultural preservation, education and community engagement efforts.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Sheehy Toyota of Fredericksburg recently donated $2,500 to the Patawomeck Indian Tribe of Virginia, according to an April 9 release. The donation is intended to support the Tribe’s ongoing work in cultural preservation, education and community engagement in the Fredericksburg and Stafford communities.
The contribution was presented to Paul Midstead, Tribal Judge, and will directly support those efforts, according to the announcement. The Patawomeck Indian Tribe is a state-recognized Native American Tribe and operates a Museum, Living Village and Cultural Center that offer storytelling, demonstrations and hands-on learning for visitors.
“At Sheehy, our commitment to the community includes honoring the voices, histories, and living traditions that continue to shape it,” said Mike Rastegari, general manager of Sheehy Toyota of Fredericksburg. “The Patawomeck Indian Tribe holds a rich and enduring heritage, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to support its preservation and the sharing of its story for generations to come.”

According to the announcement, the Tribe also is working to restore its historic Algonquian language as part of an effort to reconnect future generations with their ancestral roots. The organization also supports educational advancement through scholarships and community-based initiatives for Tribal members.
The donation will help expand programming and sustain resources that keep the Tribe’s history visible and accessible, according to the release. The gift is as part of Sheehy Auto Stores’ broader community engagement efforts and its focus on initiatives intended to create lasting impact.

Sheehy Auto Stores said it is celebrating 60 years of service in 2026.
