Pedestrian Killed on Jefferson Davis Highway
Woman was reportedly standing in the road when she was struck by a vehicle, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.

A woman died Tuesday night after she was struck by a car on Jefferson Davis Highway, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
Shawna Michelle Bishop, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies responded to a reported of a pedestrian struck in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and I-95 last night, at about 8 p.m.

The investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway struck the victim who appears to have been standing in the roadway, according to Capt. Jeff Pearce.
The Commonwealth’s Attorney was notified and no charges are anticipated against the driver, due to the circumstances surrounding the accident, Pearce said in a statement.
