Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Spotsylvania, Driver Sought: Police

Police in Spotsylvania are looking for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian from Burke on Tuesday night before leaving the scene.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — A 32-year-old pedestrian from Burke died on Tuesday night when he was hit by a car in Spotsylvania County, according to the sheriff's office. Now, authorities are looking for the driver.

Deputies were called to the scene in the area of Harrison Road and Meadow Park Drive around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. There, they found a dead man along the side of the road with visible injuries, according to the police report.

The sheriff's office accident reconstruction team determined that a car was travelling east on Harrison Road when it hit the pedestrian, Keith Lawrence Ballard. Investigators noted that the collision caused several car parts to be left at the scene.

Authorities are looking for a 2012-2013 Silver Hyundai Azera with significant front end and passenger side damage.
