Peeping Tom Accused Of Planting Cameras In Bathrooms: Police

A man was accused of planting cameras in the bathrooms of his coworker's apartment, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Spotsylvania County man has been arrested and accused of planting cameras in an apartment's bathrooms. The man was identified as Jamshaid Chaudhry, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

A man called the Fredericksburg Police Department on Jan. 31 after his daughter found a strange device in her apartment's guest bathroom. The father also found a similar device in his daughter's primary bathroom.

A Fredericksburg Police detective investigated the incident and determined that both of the devices were cameras. The detective also noted the cameras were pointed at the bathrooms' shower and toilet, according to a police report.

The daughter told police she was recently away from her apartment. While she was gone, the only people who had access to the apartment were the maintenance crew and one of her coworkers, Jamshaid Chaudhry.

Chaudhry was given a key to the apartment to collect deliveries for the woman while she was away, according to authorities.

On Feb. 8, the Fredericksburg Police Department obtained warrants for Chaudhry. He is charged with peeping into an occupied dwelling, two counts of interfering with the property rights of another, and attempting to commit a misdemeanor.
