Pizza Palooza Sept. 17 at Market Square in Fredericksburg
Put on by the the Fredericksburg-Este Association, the event will feature several area pizza restaurants, beer, wine and live music.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — For fans of genuine Italian pizza, there's nothing quite like strolling down the streets of New York City and stumbling upon a previously undiscovered pizzeria, walking in and then becoming almost intoxicated by the aroma.
Not planning a trip to the Big Apple anytime soon? No worries, because the Fredericksburg-Este Association is holding Pizza Palooza Sept. 17 in Market Square behind the old Town Hall from 5 p.m.-9 p.m.
Several of the area's pizza restaurants will be represented, and the event also will include live music by classic-rock band Acoustic Onion.

Celebrity judges will sample the pies and later vote on which pizza they deem the tastiest.
Admission is $1 — the same price for slices. Also available for purchase will be beer and wine.
