Police: Arrest in Downtown Graffiti Vandalism

A suspect has been arrested in a strong of graffiti incidents earlier this week in downtown Fredericksburg.

Owaiian Jones, 54, of no fixed address was arrested on six charges of destruction of property, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

Businesses targeted include:

• Union Market First Bank, 725 Kenmore Avenue
• Michael Barrett Law, 816 William Street
• Mr. Postal, 600 Caroline Street
• Downtown Cleaners, 510 Kenmore Avenue
• Freedom Worship, 318 Jefferson Davis Highway
• Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 309 Wolfe Street

Police note the graffiti Monday night and Tuesday morning had no pattern. Some other recent graffiti downtown has included symbols.
