Police: Burglar Drives through Fence in Escape
Startled by the homeowner, the suspect allegedly jumped into his car and drove through her backyard.

Deputies have arrested a burglary suspect who had fled the scene Monday by driving through the victim’s rear fence, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel Byram, 27 of Spotsylvania, is charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, grand larceny and breaking and entering.
Byram allegedly broke into the victim’s home, on Leavells Road in Fredericksburg, around 5:50 a.m. on Monday. The resident woke up and reportedly found Byram stealing items from her home.

Surprised the homeowner caught him, Byram allegedly jumped into his vehicle and drove through her backyard, damaging the rear fence as he exited, according to a SCSO release. Deputies found Byram and another burglary suspect at a traffic stop on Massaponax Drive. The stolen property was still inside the car.
“This time of year, is especially wrought with property crimes, such as Breaking and Entering,” Sheriff Roger L. Harris said in a release.
