Police: Help Solve New Year's Hit-and-Run

Victim is undergoing treatment for serious injuries, according to Virginia State Police.

Virginia State Police is seeking the public’s help in locating the motorist involved in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian early on New Year’s Day.

Near 4:20 a.m. Thursday, a red sedan was heading west on Garrisonville Road when it struck a man using a crosswalk at the intersection with Brafferton Boulevard. The car fled the scene, according to VSP.

The 37-year-old Triangle resident is undergoing treatment for serious injuries at Mary Washington Hospital. A 31-year-old woman from Burke was with the victim, but she was not struck or injured.

She believed the car was a red Chevrolet sedan. It would have sustained damage to its right front passenger side and the mirror, according to police.
